Agents of Change

The Agents of Change Entrepreneurship Program

Events

Every fortnight, from week 0 to 8, there’s an event. It starts with the launch - as a successful applicant/start-up, you’ll get to meet your peers, some alumni, and invited guests. The program commences in earnest and instructions on how it is to all progress are explained. The second and third events feature talks from guest entrepreneurs, focused on funding, prototyping, and problem solving. In week 6 we’re teaming up with PushStart for a Mentor Live event. Week 8 is the finale: we’ll see a few of the front runners, learn from the flops, dish out a bit of advice going forward, and celebrate!

Milestones

Key to this program are the fortnightly milestones that need to be reached in order to progress. At first it’s quite gentle, the actions are generic to all starting up any business. Gradually, as momentum gathers, you’ll be building, designing, and out on your feet talking to potential customers/users. Towards the end of the program you may even be dictating to us what milestones can be achieved by the fortnights end!

Office Hours

Mixed in with these fortnightly events and milestones are weekly office hours with us, were we will help you scoping your problem, designing business model’s, and keeping up with the milestones. You’ve only got 30 minutes in these meetings so be prepared!

You can expect to walk out the program a starter - if you’ve kept up until the end you’ll have users or sales - well on the way to solving the problem you set out to. What you do next is up to you: begin the start-up grind, hacking and hustling to keep yourself alive and in the game: Or perhaps you’ll take your experience and pivot to a new problem, maybe with some co-founders you met along the way: And for sure a few of you will realize entrepreneurship isn’t your thing and you’re best served pursuing other interests. Such is life.

We’ll still be here at the end of it all, active in the greater entrepreneurship ecosystem with events like Startup Hackathon, Idea Pitch, and Entrepreneurs Week, among other initiatives. Locally there’s a vibrant start-up scene, and it doesn’t matter if you’re student, corporate, or international - a passion for startups is what brings people together.
