Attention all students - New entrepreneurship subject available in the Faculty of Business and Economics #UniMelb

We're proud to announce a new entrepreneurship subject now offered at the University of Melbourne's Faculty of Business and Economics: 325-228 Market Development and Entrepreneurship
In fact this subject was developed as a direct result of Student Entrepreneur | Agents of Change activities. Last year our founder Amir Nissen took on an active role to lobby for more entrepreneurship teaching in the Faculty's curriculum. With immense support from the Executive Director of Graduate School of Business and Economics, Brooke Young, this new subject was born and became the third entrepreneurship related subject currently offered at the University of Melbourne
We strongly recommend students interested in entrepreneurship to switch into this new subject - it's about entrepreneurial market development, it's gotta be fun!
(The two other entrepreneurship subjects are 333-308 Entrepreneurial Finance and 325-314 Managing Entrepreneurship and Innovation).
325-228 Market Development and Entrepreneurship
This subject is designed to provide a strong foundation in market development and entrepreneurship by reconciling the practical and theoretical concepts of going to market. This will involve an examination and understanding of various topics including: idea generation, market analysis, funding, pricing, customer alignment, and channel management. The emphasis of this course will be on the application of marketing paradigms to increase entrepreneurial success.
On successful completion of this subject a student should be able to:
• Critically evaluate the viability of new market entry
• Analyse marketing theory and frameworks in formulating business start-up strategy
• Analyse marketing related issues unique to start-ups and small business
• Construct a marketing plan for new business ventures
